We had a blast yesterday with the first Mad Hatter's Tea with Goats! Great families and individuals came out to meet the goats, and have some tea and scones under the oaks. We sectioned off an area for the kids to run around, and not ONE tried to jump on the table. I was amazed.
We'll do it again next year, and try to arrange for some kiddings a bit later in the season, so there are some smaller kids to hold, but the four-six month olds had a ball playing, cavorting and checking out the falling leaves.
Meanwhile Pippi begged for food, Magi mugged for attention, and the people played "Cheshire Cat Count," and "Extreme Croquet." Next year we'll add more to games offered, and hope for a little less wind, but honestly, it was a delightful day. Hopefully you'll all join us in 2018. So, back to the soapmaking and the filling up the kidding chart. We're going back on test this year, and we're planning on showing and doing Linear Appraisal, so people who don't know us will recognize the quality of our herd. Until then I'll have to just tell you that many people contact us and comment on how beautiful our goats are. Part of that is because they are pretty stress free, and happy as little goats can be. We're proud of that, and I hope that our buyers want that for their goats too. Happy Autumn!
